Product Description

Ferromanganese is a ferroalloy containing up to 80% manganese. It is primarily used as a deoxidizer and can counteract the adverse effects of sulfur on metals. Ferromanganese improves the hot working properties of metals and enhances their strength, hardness, toughness, and hardenability.

Production Process

Blast furnace smelting: Generally uses blast furnaces with a volume of less than 1000 m³, and the production process is roughly the same as that of ironmaking blast furnaces.


Electric furnace smelting: Divided into flux method (low-manganese slag method) and fluxless method (high-manganese slag method).


Electric furnace refining: Generally uses 1500-6000 kVA electric furnaces for desiliconization refining.


Oxygen blowing refining: Obtains medium- and low-carbon ferromanganese by blowing pure oxygen into liquid carbon ferromanganese or ferromanganese-silicon alloy.
